Company News: Chamberlains moves the Earth

CHAMBERLAIN Transport has been moving the earth in a major partnership with another transport firm.
In 2009, Rutland-based transport company CS Ellis won the contract to deliver all the peat, wood chip, play sand and other landscaping products for garden specialists Westland Horticulture Ltd.
In spring of this year, demand for Westland's materials shot up as gardeners prepared for a busy summer.
To deal with this increase CS Ellis engaged the support of Chamberlains and since March the firm has helped to deliver between five and 10 loads a day to garden centres across the UK - mainly in the South-East of England.
Simon Chamberlain, managing director of Chamberlain Transport, said: "The Westland Horticulture contract with CS Ellis is a great example of partnership working between two haulage firms.
"The contract has been extremely productive for us and the number of deliveries throughout May, in particular, has kept us extremely busy.
"Our close working relationship with CS Ellis has developed through our membership of the Transport Association and we were more than happy to work together to help a fellow TA member.
"Both Chamberlain and CS Ellis have a well-established reputation for high quality service so the customer could rest assured that their products were in safe and reliable hands."
